Just got new gles?

So I have known one of my eyes was bad for a while, but my mom just took me to the eye doctor, and i just got gles. My gles are basically only for my right eye(which is nearsighted), since my left eyes sees normal. The eye doctor said my gles are to mainly help me focus, but should I only wear them for distance stuff, or should I wear them for everything?
